1 Korintus 7:39
Konteks7:39 A wife is bound as long as her husband is living. But if her husband dies, 1 she is free to marry anyone she wishes (only someone in the Lord).
1 Korintus 13:11
Konteks13:11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. But when I became an adult, 2 I set aside childish ways.
[7:39] 1 tn The verb κοιμάω (koimaw) literally means “sleep,” but it is often used in the Bible as a euphemism for the death of a believer.
[13:11] 2 tn The Greek term translated “adult” here is ἀνήρ (anhr), a term which ordinarily refers to males, husbands, etc. In this context Paul contrasts the states of childhood and adulthood, so the term has been translated “adult”; cf. BDAG 79 s.v. 1.b.
